I'm fairly new to digital, I was a bit of a die-hard film girl until the birth of my daughter in September 2006, when my husband acquired a tiny Casio. I had my SLR fully loaded with film ready for her arrival, but the simplicity and low cost of digital and even the quality of simple snapshots kept my SLR in the bag for more "special occaisions". Needless to say, the world of digital grew on me and I've recently been upgraded (substatially!) to a Nikon D80 (thanks again to the best man alive!).

I am delighted with my D80 so far and even though my daughter is still my number one subject, I am extending my shooting to include more creative shots that the little Casio couldn't have come close to and my wallet couldn't have handled if I'd used film.

I studied photography in College way back in '91/'92 and miss my larger formats and days in the darkroom, but editing software and my digital SLR are rapidly filling up space in a heart I thought only had room for film.

Plus with Flickr, I have a whole new photographic world to share with, learn from, view and appreciate.
