Born in Dundee, Scotland; grew up near Wellington, New Zealand. I've been exploring the world for the last 17 years on a perpetual voyage 'back home' that never seemed to get me there. I finally got back at the end of 2008. I'm discovering a whole new world to explore right here :-)

My trusty old Dynax died on the road a couple of years back ... too many dousings in salt water, too many months growing fungus in damp humid jungles ... after over 100 countries it didn't really owe me much ... so finally I was thrown into the digital age. I miss shooting film, I still love the texture, definition and colours, but I guess I also love the convenience of digital (I definitely don't miss lugging a sack of 200 rolls of film about!).

Everything before that had been shot on slide film ... I was reluctant to change to the pixel given my love for the celluloid ... one of these days when I'm finally reunited with my belongings back in New Zealand, I will have a lifetime's work with my huge stock of film shot around the world over the first 17 years of wandering the planet ...

A request: I appreciate and welcome all comments and critiques, and please feel free to invite my photos to groups (that don't insist I then comment on 5 others) but I'd really prefer not to have badges, trophies and animated gif's on my photo pages. Thanks :-)
