My name is Alexandra, but my friends call me Ale (Ali)
I live in wonderful rainy Portland, Oregon with my husband Ben, our daughter Willow one very neurotic cat named Penny (aka Dingus) and a happy little puppy called Luna

In my professional life I'm a Chef & Baker,a former Fromager/Cheese Monger. I'm especially passionate about Culinary History, and the sociological aspects of food.
I recently left the culinary world to become a SAHM, while preparing for my daughter's arrival, I taught myself to sew and embroider and fell in love with yet another artistic medium. I'm pleased to have recently joined the Portland Modern Quilt Guild Board of Directors as the new Programs Coordinator.I'm joining a fantastic group of ladies, join us if you're ever in town!

I'm now in the middle of switching my intended track into full time Art Maker instead of Food Maker... this is mostly pictures of the fallout... and the resulting explosion of fiber and craft.

I don't mind sharing my craft/quilt photos, but I appreciate it when people ask. I do ask that you give me credit for my work and link back here or my blog. So, basically just be cool, ok?
