I am currently the New Democratic Member of Parliament for Sudbury.

As Sudbury's federal representative it is my responsibility to voice the concerns, values and beliefs of my constituents in our nation's capital. I also work with constituents to navigate federal programs and to help solve problems as they arise. I work with small business and large industry, with labour groups and social service organziations to present Sudbury's needs to the Federal government and to bring to the table solutions which help our community and those across Canada.

As the critic for Consumer Protection, I tackle issues which affect all Canadians, from the bloated interest rates charged by credit card companies to the sales practices of telemarketers, from food safety to product standards for imported goods.

As the critic for Amateur sport, I am also working to promote best practices in amateur sports and to ensure that the federal government is playing its role in the lead up to the 2010 Winter Olympics.


Most of all, I am a dedicated father and husband. Although reading bedtime stories over the phone is no substitute to tucking in my girls in person, I am happy to be setting an example of public service for my children. I want to promise a legacy of pride and commitment to my girls, so when they grow up, they have the same values passed down to me by my parents. Through my work, I hope to build a better world for my daughters and their peers.
