I'm new to the DSLR world and am trying to learn as much as I can here looking at different pics and the EXIF data on them, as well as making new friends in the process. I've not gotten deep into the Flickr community YET, but I can see how addicting/fun it is going to be. Hope to be around for a long time and continually learn and advance in my photo-taking capabilities. I'm in Chicago so I definitely have a lot of subjects to shoot IF I were into landscape/landmark types of things. The thing is, I like more fun, colorful, abstract and macro-type things. We will learn soon where my forte is, I hope! It's nice to be here. Feel free to e-mail me at any time at gina4xoxoxo@aol.com I would LOVE to get any type of feedback on my photos and also am interested in talking with people who use the Kodak P850 before I give it up for good for the D50. Maybe I will keep it as a backup P&S and, therefore, would really be interested in talking with other owners of it, especially those who use the PASM manual modes :O)
ETA: That was a long time ago I wrote that. I switched to DSLR in October '07 and will NEVER go back to P&S! I'm addicted for real now to Flickr and my new camera. I did, in fact, get the D50 (much thanks to Diyosa for being my inspiration to do so) and have also started my lens collection. In my three months I"ve managed to acquire four lenses and can't wait to get more!! I found my forte to be animals and kids. I love tight shots/crops. And I still read books and study EXIF on a daily basis. I have to give HUGE props to my gurl, LH*Photography, for all she has taught me and being an inspiration to me daily. She really is a wonderful friend and genuinely nice person who totally KICKS ASS with her photography, especially portraits!!

To anyone who is unsure about crossing the DSLR line, GO FOR IT! TRUST ME, YOU'LL BE SO GLAD YOU DID!! Ü

ETA: On March 21, 2009, I acquired my new baby. I upgraded to a Nikon D300..... now I have a new baby and a new love in my life :O) Totally kicks ass! And now a new true macro lens. If anyone is in doubt about geting one, GET IT!! You'll love it!
