A note of explanation to people who visit this photostream. It took a while before I had time to figue out exactly what you could use Flickr for. At first I used this as a private storage space for photos from my digital camera.

In the future I will try to organize the public parts of my archive to stress quality over quantity.

I especially like photos that show the geographic variety and beauty of the planet - meaning panoramic views, landscapes, seascapes, and architecture. Lately I have developed something of a preference for places with cool, temperate, or Mediterranean climates. I love green or green combined with other shades, rock formations, and ocean blue. I love architecture that fits in with the landscape.

I especially welcome the opportunity to see great photos of many types taken by other people with access to beautiful places, good cameras and photographic imagination.

I am placing nice photos of places I have been or would like to visit in some newly created galleries.

I love to see photos that are representative of the local or regional geograpy and culture and am using this medium as a way to learn and communicate visual geographic information as well as great photography.

If any of you are interested in more regular sharing of photos on world geographic and cultural themes you might think of joining my group called Geografia Mundial / World Geography. That way we could also share ideas and impressions.
