Well i was born in 1975 to English parents.....but you don't wanna hear all that!.....Photography-wise...
I've been a photography fan since i was pretty young. I started at about 6 years old with a Kodak 110, then moved onto a Kodak 35mm a couple of years later. Both cameras were inherited from family members. One christmas my sister got a Polaroid Instant, and the 35mm got used less and less.

While doing a photography qualification at school, my father bought me an entry level SLR, a Pentax P30. This produced some great black and white photographs using ilford FP4 & 5, all of which i developed myself in the school darkroom. The camera was sadly stolen after a few years, but with the insurance money i bought an Olympus IS3000 fixed lens SLR. This camera was a little too bulky for me to take everywhere, so it didn't get used a great deal. So in the third year of university i traded it in for an early Kodak digital 1MP camera, a DC210 plus.

Buying a digital camera made a huge difference in the amount of photos i took. I have a rich photographic memory of my life from the day i bought this camera. I guess i'm not organised enough to regularly develop rolls of film & as i was already an avid fan of photoshop, going digital was perfect. After 4 years and around 3000 photos, i sold that camera and inherited a Fuji Finepix F600. This camera made much sharper images, and as such i used it even more than the Kodak.

Current equipment in order of purchase:
Nikon D50
Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-D (kit)
Nikon remote
Nikkor 70-210mm f/3.5-5.6 AF (currently broken)
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF-D
Opteka fisheye converter
Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5-5.6 HSM AF
Sigma 600mm reflector (awaiting nikkor mount)
Extension tubes
Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8 AF-D

It seems a lot of people are buying DSLR's at the moment. Due to the decent images you can get with a modern mobile phone, people are taking more pictures and thinking more about photography. Its a great thing !
