Time to update this information: I have finally taken the plunge (April 2010) and am now the proud owner of my first DSLR , a Canon EOS 550D. It's brought new life to my photos as I no longer need to make every picture a landscape or a macro.
Recently the local paper emailed to ask if they could do a feature on me as I submit photos to the letters page. The article is in this month's 'The Derbyshire' and was in the Derby Evening Telegraph on 30.06.10. I've had some very nice comments about it, which is lovely - I just wish I could have told lots more people, but that just isn't me.

I think my ambition now is to sell one of my photographs...(achieved September 2010)
I teach crafts and Jewellery to adults, give piano lessons and run a website on behalf of The UK Hand Knitting Association. (www.ukhandknitting.com) I see my camera as a medium to tell the world about me and record events and achievements. I love colours, textures and lines, especially on buildings. My photos reflect how I feel about everything: I want the next one to be better than the last...
