I am a retired fan engineer.

Born in Birmingam, UK, but now live in Orba. Spain.

The town of ORBA is within the Orba valley.
The town is 170m above sea level and is approx 17 k'm from the Mediterranean sea.
The area is known for its Orange growing.

Photography is my passion, I love it.
My interest is in detail and colour and with no Photoshop.
I shoot in Raw format and only tweek the light ,contrast and colour.
I almost always fill the viewfinder with the subject which usually is a single flower.

My current camera is a Canon EOS 50D,
I like the detail and colour that this camera is capable of capturing.
I also have an EOS 400D.
The lens I most use is a Canon EF 100mm f2.8 USM macro.

I really enjoy taking images of very small flowers, usually the wild variety.
Getting into the fine detail of them is a challenge.
This type of flower is available all the year round here in Spain.

I use my tripod most times and locked mirror where possible.
I always use a remote switch..
This way I can eliminate most of the vibration that can spoil the capture.

I am just experimenting with a remote flash (580EX 2) and hope that something will come of it.
It is very difficult to capture all the detail I aim for with natural light.
