I was in Caumsett Sate Park and sighted a raptor on a nest resting on a tree trunk hanging about 100 feet above my head. Imagine my frustration when the best photo I could get with my point and shoot was.....

So, off to B&H Photo I went and purchased my first DSLR!

I've spent the last year reading the camera's instruction manual and other helpful books, learning the language of photography, and studying the photos of photography's icons with the result that I can now see the world through a photographer's eye.

And although I'm still learning, one problem remained - finding myself in this craft, finding a way to be different. I love vibant colors and distortion, the 17-35mm wide-angle telephoto lens is my favorite. I love going out on the street and photographing every thing I see, but as far as I could ascertain the first photo of Manhattan was taken in 1848, that's 162 year of some of the best phototogs taking pictures of my hometown, now how do I compete with them?

Well, it took a while, but I've finally found my photographic signature.....
