Aspects and Sizes
Most of my shots are 2:3 or 3:2 aspect SOOC, but occasionally I'll crop, and I'll make sure they fit one of the following aspects. Upload sizes are 1680px at the long end using Jeffrey Friedl's Lightroom3 Flickr plug-in.

Desktop Backgrounds
For 16:10 and 3:2 aspect images that I feel are suitable for desktop backgrounds ("wallpaper" in Windows-speak), I tag them with "desktop background". For Windows you can use a program such as Display Fusion to grab images with that tag and "Gav Owen" for the username, and cycle through my work as your computer's background (aw shucks!).


How to Best View My Images
1. A good-quality monitor is a must.
2. Calibrate it with a relatively inexpensive hardware calibration device.
3. View the images with a color-managed browser. Safari and Firefox are closest to what I see in Lightroom. Chrome is a great browser, but has a long way to go in terms of color management (come on Google!).
