Gallery Project's photostream |
Gallery Project is a fine art collaborative. Its mission is to provide a venue for contemporary art that is culturally aware, individualistic, courageous, and thought provoking. Gallery Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Gallery Project presents nine themed exhibits annually. Emphasis is placed on gathering local, regional, and nationally based artists whose work speaks in a unique voice to the chosen theme. Exhibits are curated by Gallery Project directors, guests, and collaborators, who are a fluid group of 8-12 working artists representing a diverse range of visual arts and geographic linkages.
Gallery Project emphasizes the dual role of the Artist/Curator, requesting that curators show their own work along with the work of the selected artists with whom they share a strong thematic vision.
Collaborators, who are selected on a year-by-year basis, share in the management of the gallery. Studio Artists contribute time to the gallery and use studio space to develop and install work for upcoming exhibits. Gallery Assistants contribute their time to the gallery.
Rocco DePietro and Gloria Pritschet, who founded Gallery Project in the Spring of 2005, are its Directors.
