Towards the end of 2008 Gadora Wilder found more free time than usual (thank YOU economic downturn). That summer I’d moved back to Dallas from a glorious few years in New York City, then Vegas, where I’d been in hot pursuit of a good living and a great life. “Working” from home afforded Gadora the time to craft holiday gifts for each of my Lady Friends, and family alike. And aren’t one-of-a-kind gifts from your BFF priceless, anyway?

Besides, who doesn’t love their pet? Gadora will be nothing short of devastated when my true love leaves me, but at 17 (years young) it is a very real notion. My Lady Friends each have a pet (or four) of their own, so I set out to capture their spirits with a handmade print.

They sent me their favorite photos (or I nabbed snaps from their SpaceBook* pages) and worked them on my Mac until ready for print. Each (mostly measuring 5×7) was then meticulously detailed on fine watercolor paper. Gadora chose suitably elegant frames, then carried them to their new homes where I delighted in my friends’ reactions.

Once the holiday’s were good and gone, serious requests for more “Animal Prints” began to roll in. Bring it. Truly Gadorable, there’s no pet Gadora can’t do.
