I am now over-educated and have spent the better part of 12 years rumbling my happy way through West Texas.

I am permanently banned from a few motels, buffets, gas stations and Rotary Club functions, (although the Lions think I am just their kind of guy). I have a fondness for donkey's and I root for the underdog.

When in doubt about what to order at a restaurant... order the cheeseburger.

I am living the dream, people...one crappy location at a time.

Ten things this world has taught me:

1. The best road map to happiness is the one you create for yourself.
2. Time fades the worst of wounds, but only if you stop picking at it.
3. Intelligence is important, but being nice and working hard is required.
4. By being right and winning an argument, you can still lose.
5. Never ask a woman about the status of her pregnancy. Ever!
6. Constructive criticism is like whiskey. A little never hurts, but overdoing it will cause you nothing but pain.
7. Anger is the emotional attachment to an unmet expectation.
8. Forgiveness will only come when you finally give up hope for a better past.
9. Stories about your experiences are always better than stories about your “plans” to do things.
10. There is no knowledge to be learned in the second kick of a donkey.
