We injure in order to expose the wounds inflicted by the everyday world. We are practitioners in the ungentle art of making enemies. We violate the taboo in order to strike a blow for political freedom. There is a quality of light about a breaking of a taboo: something that was dark or shadowed is now illuminated. No subject, no practice, no truth, should ever be concealed or regarded as off–bounds. Laws, moralities, aesthetics have been created to make you respect fragile things. What is fragile should be broken.
