The Federation of Young European Greens is an umbrella European organisation for young green organisations, comprised of both youth branches of political parties and green-minded NGOs. In 2009 there are 40 organisations member of FYEG present in 36 different European states. FYEG was founded in 1988 in Belgium, with the purpose of bringing together young environmental and Green political groups from all over Europe to encourage both mutual understanding and mutual action to promote a greener Europe. The purpose of the federation is to, on a European level, strive for environmental and social justice. In total FYEG represents between 17000 and 22000 young greens. Since 2007 FYEG has been the official youth wing of the European Green Party (EGP). The office is based in Brussels, Place Flagey 18, 5th floor, 1050 B.
