"The proper goal of all technical refinement in art is a style which is authentic. The artistic portrayal of phenomena, no matter how energetic, polished or detailed it may be, is empty of meaning unless it reveals, as in a kind of inner painting, the awareness perceiving these phenomena, the receptive spirit at its profoundest level of activity. And this revelation of identity is not truly authentic unless it is somehow familiar to its audience, and shared by them. For the good artist has two identities - individuality and humanity - and cannot produce well unless he reveals both. Indeed, authenticity is no more than a rare and precious form of communality, brought into focus by individual experience. One of the reasons why there is so little good art is that few artists are capable of expressing both of these identities. Those who think in the communal style can conceive of no other; while those who despise it fail to see that it holds, in its very creases and foibles, the inalienable channels of poetry."

"First of all, I want to thank Cameron for reminding me to look up at the sky and appreciate everything that's up there. I was at a park with my friends today (June 4th) and I did exactly that. His photos really show the mystical and hidden beauties of life. He captures the small transient moments that make us feel so happy to be alive--so, thank you. :)
Secondly, being a Canadian, I am so happy to see pictures of Toronto captured with amazing light and shadow and composition. I have always loved the city with a passion. I really, REALLY, feel proud to live in such a beautiful place, and thank you, again, Cameron, for doing such an amazing job.
Ladies and gentlemen, this guy rules at what he does. I hope you appreciate his photos as much as I do. I love looking at them. You're amazing Cameron. :D"4th June, 2009

"Cameron MacMaster is extremely talented, to put it simply. He has an incredible eye for composition, colour and beauty in simple, everyday things. To quote what I said in a comment on one of his photos: "I love how you see Toronto - as if everything in it is art waiting to be photographed." And, really, isn't that what photography is all about?"
