Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa, Brian Metzer has been covering the Pittsburgh Penguins and National Hockey League since 2004. He currently serves as a Penguins correspondent for XM Radio’s NHL Home Ice, a contributor to www.versus.com and is the primary contributor for this blog www.fromthepoint.com.

Over the years Metzer has covered three Stanley Cup Finals, an Olympic Hockey Tournament, and countless National Hockey League games. He previously spent four years as the featured Pittsburgh Penguins blogger for www.hockeybuzz.com, hosted a wildly popular Penguins/NHL podcast, and pops up on radio shows around the country.

Metzer can be found wandering the halls of Mellon Arena on any Penguins game day, prowling the streets of Bloomfield, Pa in search of Sam Adams product or watching Scrubs reruns. He loves all forms of media, is a gadget junkie and is one of the most approachable guys you will ever meet, so say hello!
