Our cafeteria-style eatery in The Franklin Institute is a lively, sun-filled place for a family meal. Our house-made soups and chicken tenders, crisp french fries, fresh salads and sandwiches, juicy hamburgers, and pizzas plus fresh-baked cupcakes and other desserts are familiar enough for kids yet sophisticated enough for parents’ palates. Ben’s Bistro occupies one of the museum’s two original wings on the main floor, a grand space with soaring ceilings, enormous windows and spectacular views of the Parkway and Swan Fountain.

A centrally-located café in The Franklin Institute Atrium offering fresh breakfast pastries, soups, salads, sandwiches and vegetarian options, as well as coffee, healthy snacks, candy and popcorn to be enjoyed in the IMAX theater.


FROG Burger

Frog Burger is a no-frills hamburger and shake stand open during the summer months on the front lawn of The Franklin Institute. Featuring hamburgers “so juicy you might want a bib,” house-made potato chips and shakes made with Bassett’s ice cream. Frog Burger is informal and homegrown-reminiscent of a backyard bar-b-que with a tent, big grill and picnic tables. Other specialties include fried green tomatoes, grilled corn with chili-lime butter and the signature “Love Burger,” a hamburger with two grilled-cheese sandwiches in lieu of a roll and topped with a special sauce. Frog Burger also serves beer, wine and sangria.


Cleo's Portico

North Portico, facing the Parkway above the Fels Planetarium entrance.
Located on the museum’s second floor portico, Cleo’s Portico will serve specialty cocktails (the Cleopolitan!) and mezze Mediterranean-style light dining (salads, skewers, hummus) on the portico terrace with
spectacular views overlooking Benjamin Franklin Parkway. There will be a children’s menu as well. No reservations. During days of operation Cleo’s Portico can accommodate groups of 20 or more. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, private parties are welcome. For more
