FRIEND Farmed Animal Rescue's photostream

FRIEND was established in the early 90's to give a permanent home to abused, unwanted, and orphaned farmed animals, so they can live peacefully for the rest of their lives.
We currently look after about 150 animals. Pigs, cows, geese, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, dogs, cats, ferrets and a horse are enjoying as natural a life as we can offer, given that we live in the heart of the Kent countryside, and they are permitted to run freely and communally over the 10 acre site.


Financial donations are of the most importance to the running of the rescue. We are funded wholly on caring people's goodwill. A wonderful way of helping the sanctuary is to sponsor an animal.
All donations go to helping the animals in our care by paying for feed, essential equipment and veterinary bills.

Because FRIEND Farmed Animal Rescue doesn't receive public aid, we run on a very tight budget and rely on volunteers to help us keep going.
All sorts of tasks await our volunteers from feeding the animals or fund raising to fence mending and building shelters.
