My interests are pretty basic: taking pictures, loud music of the Canadian indie kind, sleeping in, cookies and yelling at the TV. My main goal in life is retirement (30 years! WOO!)

I take pictures for a very simple reason: because I like to and it makes me happy. I'm not going to pretend I know what I'm doing. In fact, it makes me feel kind of awkward when people refer to me as a/the photographer because it's all flukes. If a picture comes out good, I am always pleasantly surprised. And if I try to do something interesting it rarely looks like it does in my head.

So I just stick to the two things I remember from the four, two hour photography classes I had to take at the NSCC about a decade ago: fill the frame and lock your elbows.

I rarely modify my photos, other than making them straighter (my shots always come out on a slant) or cropping. I like my pictures to look like what I am seeing.

ANYway, if I could quit my job and make money taking pictures all day, I would. But I don't think people will be falling over themselves for pictures of litter any time soon . . . right? (RIGHT?) Speaking of which, I am obsessed with Tim Hortons litter. Yeah it's weird, but what can you do? Check out the Tim Hortons Project - it's litterific!

I favourite the photos I wish I'd taken. Probably because I wish I had half the abilities the people who took those photos have.
