I was fortunate to have been the art director of a fine weekly newspaper, the The Santa Barbara Independent (formerly the News & Review). The paper has always placed importance on top-notch photography and over the span of 10 years, I worked with exceptional photographers like Christopher Gardner and Kim Reiserson.
Christopher Gardner was always willing to share his knowledge and during shoots he always explained his approach to lighting and how to create the mood he was trying to convey. I think because of him, I fell in love with light, a whole new language I learned later. He even gave me my my first SLR-his retired Minolta. Too bad that I couldn't afford the cost of processing film
I currently run Hollywood Pixels, a graphic design and photography business in San Diego, California.
