I have been an occasional photographer since my early teens, when I bought my first SLR camera (a hulking monster). These days, I am shooting with a Nokia N95 8GB or E70 camera phones (always in pocket), Canon S3 IS (a compact zoom camera) and Canon EOS D350 (the main system). My lenses are currently the kit EFS 18-55mm, recently superceded by Canon EFS 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (the main carry-around lens), and Sigma 70-300mm APO f.4-5.6 Macro (nice general lens for tele and macro work). Sometimes I carry a Manfrotto tripod (055PROB). -- The main obstacles are related to schedules -- being a bit too busy, it seems that I find time for this hobby only when the sun is already down.
In my work life I am a professor (specializing in digital culture and game studies) in the University of Tampere, Finland.
