The insanity started a couple years back with a Canon A510 point and shoot -- Christmas gift. I moved up the P&S ladder, jumped to a Nikon D50 and quickly, to a Nikon D90 in the last week. There is no end to it and I am so happy to have this avocation as well as a place to show what I'm doing and to see other work.
