I like the combination of mechanics, electronics and photography. This give me exceptional tools to make thinks like highspeed photography. This results into my waterfigures and my insects in-flight. As old electro designer i can make this tools myself. i'm retired now so time is not a big problem. I have worked 15 years as mechanical designer and 26 years as hightech hardware designer. There I have learned to use FPGA chips as hardware solutions for highspeed applications. To realise the mechanical parts I have now a lathe and a milling machine. Insects in-flight give me a new view how all this little insects move into the air.

spettacolopuro says:
""Thank you Frans for showing what we all would else have missed!
Frans has gone beyond top quality macro photography. He has integrated his knowledge from other fascinating fields into it. He came out with something unique. I look at him wandering among flowers and plants and insects with his creativity hanging from his shoulders and I truly admire him. Keep on unveiling the nature' secrets Frans!""14th October, 2009

Dalantech says:
"It's difficult to say if Frans is more talented as an engineer or as a photographer but one thing is clear; he's forgotten more than most of us will know about stop motion photography. I'm a big fan of your work Frans, and it's good to see you here on Flickr!"
