I can't remember when I never was interested in photography. My grandma gave me an old brownie camera when I was around 10 or so. I remember getting another camera for my 6th grade graduation - a Polarid. It was fun to take "instant" photos of my school friends, anxiously awaiting for the image to develop.

Two years later my Dad loaned me his Voitlander 35mm when he and my mom took me with them on a trip to Belgium and Italy.

I remember many of my friends taking photography classes in high school. I never could then because my class schedule wouldn't allow for it. They proudly showed off their new Nikons, Olympus and Canon 35mm cameras, something I "knew" I would never own. Despite my lack of photo education, I loved looking at the pictures from LIFE and National Geographic magazines. Like many of us Flickrites, I fantasized being one of those famous photographers taking fabulous photos of people and places from around the world.

One fateful day before Christmas in my last year of high school, my father asked me to come into his room. He took out a box. It was a 35mm Canon. "Do you think your brother would like this for Christmas?" Holding back my tears as best I could, I told him I thought my brother would love it, that I knew I would. I gave it back to him.

Well, I guess my Dad could see that I really wanted a camera like that too, and on that Christmas he got me the same camera - only with a silver body instead of a black one (so my brother and I could tell them apart). I was in heaven! I still have that camera along with several others that I've collected through the years. Now, I am pretty much 100% digital, but I still have those old analog cameras.

I'm still trying to find my own style in photography, but while taking this journey I am enjoying looking at and being inspired by everyone's work here on Flickr.

There's no clear cut order to my photos. It depends on where I've been, what technique, either photographically or photoshop-wise I am trying out.

I hope some of you enjoy what I put up. I'd apprecitate a constructive comment now and then.
