I was born in Hannover in Germany but grew up in Hameln, where I was professionally trained as a photographer. After a stint as a commercial photographer, I became a photo-journalist with the local newspaper. Two books of my photographs of Hameln were published before I married and settled initially in England, but later in Australia. Since arriving in Australia in 1971, I have worked as a professional photographer, establishing my own business in Canberra in 1981, before moving with my husband to Narooma on the south coast of NSW in 1998. In Canberra, four books of my photographs of Canberra, plus books on Cambodia and the Tiwi people of N Australia were published (a second book on the Tiwi was released in 2008).
I live in an idyllic location near Narooma surrounded by water and forest, and still pursue photography with as much passion and enjoyment as ever.
