What to say..... well I have always loved photography.
I would say that scenery and nature photo's (especially birds) are my favorite subjects, but I now am trying other things.
I own a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20, otherwise known as a,"DSLR wanna be" that I have been using for about 4 or 5 years (since about 2004) and I am not sure if I am ready to take the plunge into DSLR world.
May favorite sayings for what I do......
KISS ---- Keep It Simple, Stupid
and
It is not a camera that makes a good photograph, it is the person behind it that does, .... however good equipment helps.
Both statements were made by someone in photography for over 50 years (who only worked with film) and who I had the privilege to work with and learn from. (no I don't know where he heard those statements, and I am sure they came from somewhere, but they have stuck with me)

Her wedding photography is so special. She has a way of drawing out of people the true meaning of the moment and this shows on the faces of her subjects.
I first started with photography about 5 years ago. Fotobird has always been there to give me encouragement and lessons along the way. Having her along for a birding expedition makes the day so much more fun. We see twice as many birds and animals and I do have to say, she really makes me work for my "proper ID's of the birds . . . always asking, "Are you sure?" In doing this, she has made me a better birder, more observant of the little details of our winged friends.
More recently, I have joined a small group with fotobird and some other friends that will take me right out of my comfort zone as far as photography goes. It is a good move and I know I wouldn't have made it without the encouragement of my dear friend.
In closing, let me just say that her enthusiasm for all she does is contagious and I am glad I was close enough to catch some of it.

"Where do I begin? Knowing fotobird1 her whole life it has been my joy to watch her find herself. She has blossomed and is still reaching for the sun. She is internally driven to keep shooting photos and trying to improve her work. I have seen her slowly learn to think outside of the box (which matches her personality perfectly). Her journey started with wedding photography, which she shot for many years. And now her camera has become another appendage to her body for she goes nowhere without it. I love her work and how it keeps getting better. I love how her vision keeps going around the next corner.
And besides all that, she still has time to help or comment on someone elses photos. She still takes time to view and get inspiration from other peoples work. Keep up the good work and be the best you can be. Those who know and love you are proud.
