Thanks to the generosity of and , I have a pro account.

Who Am I
I'm a former-professional photographer living in the Research-Triangle region of the North Carolina Piedmont. Largely self-taught (formal technical instruction for two semesters in college), I've been messing around with a camera since I was 5 or 6 (Kodak Trimlite 18 in 110mm) and SLRs since I was 11 or 12.

The photos posted here are largely as shot, unless noted otherwise in the description. Images with filenames aren't finalized (I do, actually give my artwork titles, much as I hate to) and they aren't even necessarily my absolute favorites -- sometimes, I like holding back, a little.

The model's names may have been changed, but the stories are true.

Family status is reserved for my models, personal friends and reputable photographers whose work I respect.

Friend status is for fellow flickr users of note, meaning they have: an avatar, a profile and notably high-quality photographs that they had a hand in crafting.

If your photostream is: blank, full of copyright violations or just plain creepy, please don't be offended if I choose to block you. Flickr is about photosharing, so please share.

Background
I've been shooting various subjects professionally since 1996 - including editorial coverage of the USA Soccer Youth Cup, NCAA/ACC sporting events, Rolex Grand-American Sports Car racing, Farnborough International Airshow, the Paris Airshow and various events.

Artistically, I have focused on urban architectural abstracts, fine art landscapes, in addition to fashion, glamour and artistic nudes. I took a break from the art between 2006 and 2010, with my life occupied mostly with starting a family.

If you are interested in modeling for me, contact me via flickrmail or via my website's contact page.

My Philosophy
I'm influenced heavily by Imogen Cunningham, Edward Weston, Thomas Karsten and Patrick Demarchelier and painted works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henri Matisse, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and Edward Degas.

I prefer in-camera crops and eschew digital manipulation that couldn't otherwise be done in a darkroom on an enlarger. That said, I can Photoshop with the best of them, when needed.

Pentax K1000 (retired)
