I enjoy photography, and travel, and photography during travel, and when not traveling too. There’s lots of great stuff to be found in the everyday. And that’s a good thing too, seeing as there’s not always time and money for the travel! I've been shooting in one form or another for most of my life, and have worked up through at least half a dozen cameras over the last 15 years or so, including Canon, Pentax, Minolta, and a few others that don’t warrant mention! - Currently shooting with a Nikon D80 and am extremely pleased and impressed with it.

Formally, photography to me is the art of capturing a compelling marriage of color, composition, and light. I place a lot of value in composition, contrast, depth of field, perspective, energy, and natural expression of subjects. Like all of us with a passion for this stuff, I get great joy and satisfaction from capturing for all time and posterity those perfect moments, whether in life, or surroundings. Silhouettes, twilight, and sun beam shots are my guilty pleasure, as my friends would be quick to tell you. As of late, I'm working a bit more on black and white photography, night photography, and refining my post processing techniques. I've also been learning more lately from some great fellow photographer friends about successful portraiture techniques, and have been having a lot of fun shooting more live subjects than has been my historical tendency. Abstracts and graphic design work are also a favorite of mine.
