After being away from Flickr for more than 6 months, I'm finally back and upgraded to PRO - an early birthday present from my wife. :-)

I live with my family in rural central Pennsylvania, USA and joined Flickr on May 23, 2007. I enjoy photographing natural beauty - primarily rural landscapes, trees, flowers, water and skies - for the glory of God who made them. All safe and family friendly, and I completely support Flickr's efforts to maintain such a community. It has been great meeting and enjoying the unique perspective of so many of you, my talented Flickr contacts. :-)

I've been an amateur photographer since middle school, when I first participated in a school trip to Washington DC. My preference for subject matter has changed greatly over the years, migrating from urban to rural. However, I still take urban shots occasionally, especially around the Penn State campus. I use simple cameras and almost all of the photos uploaded here were taken with a Kodak LS443 (older), Sony DSC-S40 (newer) or Fuji FinePix A805 (newest). If the camera type isn't listed under "Additional Information" it's probably because I cropped the photo.

Whether part of God`s creation or human engineering, interesting and inspiring form and beauty is all around us every day. We only need to be willing to take time out of our busy schedules to observe and appreciate it. I carry my camera with me almost all of the time in order to catch the moments that inspire me. I especially look for unusual lighting and subtle geometric themes, and do not digitally enhance my photos except for minor editing and cropping. My goal is not necessarily to manufacture a "perfect" photo in the sense of composition and technique, but to capture what is imperfect and convey it as beautifully as possible with the simple tools I have. When viewing other photo streams I prefer non-HDR realistic shots, although a few HDR photos catch my attention enough to fave them.

You will find some overlap in my sets but I have tried to tag enough detail to make it easy to search for similar photos. I also try to tag and write a description within a day or two of uploading pics. Please contact me if you have questions or would like to know more about locations.
