For starters, I'm a technological junkie - slash - hippie chick ......I'm a flower child trapped in a not-so-flower-child world...well, more or less.... I value nature over corporation, appreciate the rain, yet respect the sun, I see the importance of art and expression no matter what the venue, I look for rainbows every chance I get, and I can't get enough of beautiful things.

Of course, I love my array of oddball pets, my digital camera, my cell phone and my internet.... so I'm torn... or is it just the traditionalist making her way thru the now?

I love music, visual art, and any time of year that doesn't involve snow!

I love flowers, houseplants, rocks, animals, music, weather, holidays, karaoke, meeting people.... I am a member of the American Legion Auxillary, and I enjoy spending time at the post.... I am a packrat.... I hate the end of summer, simply because I know what's next.... I feel much older than I am sometimes... I am curious and intrigued by the occult and mysticism.... I have a ton of pets...I collect all sorts of stuff...and I wish I went out more, but I'm usually working or broke.... I stay home way too much, but I do enjoy it... I live with a lop-eared bunny, a couple of sulcata tortoises and some aquatic turtles, and they are all great pets, although each one is fairly eccentric in its own right. And then there's my husband.... he has to have something wrong with him to be able to put up with me....

I am a huge fan of the Trailer Park Boys (you will see just how 'park I am, my pretties... they got it so absolutely friggin' right - respect!)... and I will forever love David Lynch to the Nth power. And I can't even intelligently tell you why. But I do. He's so unique.

If I were to sum myself up in one word, I think the best word would be broken - but in a good way.

**********

I was born in 1973 in a very small suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan. My parents were in their early 20's and we lived on my father's family farm, which was more or less devolved to the point that it was used to provide hay for the few animals they had....

Growing up where and when I did was great. I think I had a pretty good, well rounded childhood. We took family vacations around Michigan from time to time, which I think allowed me to develop my bond with nature, causing me to seek it out when possible, and when I can't do that, I mimic nature via the art of gardening and landscape design.

I did well in school, although I think I may have worn out all my motivation in high school, because after my first year of college and my first actual adult life drama, my desire to be tied to the agenda of school had grown weary.

I met my best friend in 1992, and as our friendship grew, we found love, and were married in 1997. We have dealt with major health issues, loss of family, job crisis, and extreme severe happiness, and have gotten through all of it with a sense of knowing we'll be ok so long as we have each other. This mentality helped us to keep our heads up while dealing with everything from my mother's passing in 2000 to my husband's battle with cancer in 2003/2004.
Since then, we just take it day by day and make the most of what and who we have in our lives.
