Although I have a BBA Degree in Marketing from Iowa State University, I've been a stay at home mom for 18 years. I have always loved taking photos but just never really studied photography. So in 2001 with encouragement from my husband, I enrolled in my first black and white photography class. And I was hooked! I went on to take the community college's intermediate and advanced black and white levels. And I went on to win the BEST IN PHOTOGRAPHY for the spring term with my self-portrait, "magic eye".

After taking the classes, I decided to pursue portrait photography in part to see if I even really liked it. As it turns out, I really do enjoy taking portraits. I did a one year apprenticeship with a local professional photographer. And Now I've started my own little photography business.

I have a Canon 20D and use two lenses. A 50mm f/1.8 and a 17-85mm zoom lens. I'm working on saving up money to purchase a different zoom lens....the 24-70mm f/2.8L(and eventually the 70-200mm f/2.8L lens.) and also to purchase the Canon 5d.
