I'm inspired by so much of what I see on Flickr. Not just the photographs, but the humanity.

"Steve is a consummate (as in complete) flickrite. Not only does he post great work to his own stream, but he is generous with his time and comments (frequently extremely witty) on other streams. Indeed, for a long time I assumed I had made him a contact, whereas I was in fact seeing him around so often on other people's pages and jumping to his own photos from there. I only put that right recently. He looks a little like the young Gary Snyder, and many of his images remind me of Snyder poems."

"I should have wrote this long tima ago. Although you don't post much photos at a time , still, I need to go to the old ones and look at them. Your work is so powerful and intense...And yes , you are a master of light and darkness. I like the contrast of B & W in your work. YOu are so photogenic and have a very powerful, soft , lovely face which makes your photos sooo beautiful . I guess I am kinda addicted to your stream.

"steve is a master of light and dark, of contrasts, of letting line and form have their say in an honest moment that transforms blinding glare into something that makes beautiful sense.
i was a snapshotter when i came across steve's stream, and his work with light and shadow, his attention to structure and simplicity, has transformed the way i see, the way i set up shots, the way i am able to pursue photography.
thank you steve. your work has been, again and again, a visual koan for my own artistic growth."

"it's a little known fact that steve left his only shirt at my house several years ago and has been searching for it ever since. his masterful nudes are only a thinly-veiled cry for help, which i guess is proof that pain and longing create great art. but no worries, ladies, i am not giving it back."

"It would be very easy to go no further than to appreciate the physical form of Steve's self-portraits, but to do so would be a loss to the viewer. The light in all of Steve's photos is simply exquisite and should not be missed. Yes, Steve has a beautiful body. But more importantly, he has a beautiful eye and I am glad that he shares with us what he sees."

"Flyzipper – a beautiful Canadian man who takes amazingly honest self portraits as well as gorgeous, life-like nature shots. He’s the complete package. Unfortunately he doesn’t upload pictures as often as I crave them!"

"Everytime I visit Steve's stream, I just want to scream very loudly to the sky...
"ITS THE SUN! ITS THE SUN! ITS THE SUN! ITS THE SUN! ITS THE SUN!"
...and then I want to pour water over rocks to feel the perfectly balanced construction of nature's power so that I can remember viewing this stream that is quite easy to drown in. And, in this case, drowning is such a blissful avenue to venture!
All in all, Steve has the conceptual Pseudo-Boombox to replace all of our eyeballs with marbles and enough talent to fill a bubbling mass of nothing into a revamped electronegotiation of "space" filled with the most intriguing of subjectories.
He's also quite nice, which helps to raise the bar quite high in my opinion.
I always look forward to visiting his stream, because you seriously never know what he may provide us with next!
Keep shining, Steve! There's angels amongst you..."

"I come here frequently to immerse myself in this [photo]stream. Like living water, it refreshes, rejuvenates me. I love the way Steve turns the same critical eye on himself as any other subject he finds. The added dimension of powerful words to complement his images makes for an experience unlike any other i've had.
Come test the waters. I'm sure you'll find this is where you can get your life."

"If there could be a photographer that is closer to being able to express the meaning of duality and nothingness, it would have to be Flyzipper. Like a Japanese rock garden, each physical element compliments the others - color, mood, perspective without competing. Perfect harmony is something that is not palapable, it just is - in all it's perfection, and each time I look at his photostream, I have to smile and remember an ancient proverb which hints to the fact that there is no sound to the sound of one hand clapping - just beautiful enlighting silence. In Flyzipper's photos - everything is beautiful enlightened seeing."
