UPDATE:

My Flickr photos are NOT a showcase of what I think are my "best" photos (I hope to set up a web site for that purpose someday), but are photos that represent some of the things in my life that I do and that interest me... "Microblogging" if you will. I also post photos here for the purpose of learning/getting feedback from other photographers. I like to photograph almost anything, however my main interests are: travel, food, native plants, animals/pets, people, and landscapes (particularly panoramas stitched together with multiple photos). I would also like to get into architectural photography more seriously, not only because I have an interest in architecture, but because we owned an architecture firm in Pismo Beach for 14 years, LGA Architecture, Inc.!

I prefer natural looking photos with no or minimal editing/processing, although I do enjoy the occasional "Artsy" photo that has been "worked." I admire photographers who can create fantastic images "in camera," and with tools out in the field. Personally, I prefer it be that way, because I would rather spend more time playing with my camera, and being outside, than sitting in front of my computer.

As of July 2010 I now shoot primarily with a Canon 5D Mark II. Most, if not all, photos dated July 11th or later were most likely taken with this camera. It is not only my first DSLR, but my first SLR as well! It's a camera with far greater capability than I have skill, however I wanted to get a camera that I could "grow into," and not outgrow too quickly. I am looking forward to learning how to use it. Here are the lenses I got for starters. My tripod is a Gitzo Explorer, which I chose for its light weight, and because you can set your camera up in many unusual positions with it. I thought that would be especially useful for macro and architectural photography:
