I have used pseudonyms in the past, first DCVoyager and then Guy Flâneur. Having had some photos published, I've decided to simplify matters by going with my real name. I've even changed my screen name recently just to reflect my real first name and place of operation.
I have traveled some parts of the world extensively. I use photoghraphy to record what I see and to try to convey to a far-flung collection of friends and family what the places I visit look like and what it feels like to be there. I do not set out to make my photographs artistic, but on occasion I achieve a certain artistry in capturing the essence of a scene. I use no trickery in my photographs and try to restrict editing to rotating, cropping and, sometimes, minor enhancement in contrast or adjustment in levels.
The best way to approach my photographs is through the sets in my photostream, which are classified by subject. You can get a good survey of photos I like in the My Favorites set and photos that other people have liked in the Other People's Favorites set.
If you're traveling to one of the places you see in my sets, check through the set. If I've done my job right, you'll get a good idea of what you'll see when you get there.
