My real name is Jess. Since a young age I have always felt connected with everything earthy and all that comes with it. All the animals, leaves, trees, beautiful skies anything that comes with nature fills my spirit with so much joy and appreciation.

I have always had a strong passion for art, music and photography and working with animals my entire life. Throughout the years I've always entered my paintings and photographs in local art shows and agricultural shows but sadly have never gone any further with it mostly not by choice I had to choose where my time would be best served among my three passions and that is with the animals who do definitely take up most of my time nowdays ( see below ). I paint mostly with acrylics on canvas and it's mostly moreso fine art. My photography I've always also wanted to go further with and recently was FINALLY able to purchase my very first SLR Camera after years of trying to take decent close-ups and other shots on different digital cameras. Anyhow It's the latest Canon 450D and it all comes down to money sadly so bit by bit I hope to keep upgrading from now on as I'm able to. I'm absolutely amazed at the different between an SLR and a digital I never knew what I was missing until this year!

I prefer mostly macro close-ups and portrait shots and have always been more drawn to taking photographs of animals and other natural wonders e.g leaves, sunsets, rivers, rocks etc...

I took 2000 photos within the first couple of days of purchasing my SLR....what can I say...I'm absolutely HOOKED! I definitely wouldn't say I'm a professional I'm a completely self taught photographer so am learning more and more each day so i don't know what you'd call me...an amateur? self taught?

Really want to try to save for a better Macro though.

Anyhow back onto the animals! I manage a guinea pig rescue organisation here in Australia called the Australian Cavy Sanctuary. I also managethe ACS Brisbane Shelter. We are completely non profit and non funded and rely upon the generosity of the public to help us to expand and continue our work with and for these little guys. When it came to the crunch sadly my passions of music (piano/singing), art and photography, I had to basically choose between them due to how much time i was dedicating to all four...so in the end I chose to dedicate my life to these little guys when it came to the crunch. I need them in my life and they need me and these beautiful little guys have saved my life on a number of occasions in so many ways.
