We’re two brothers and a cousin who love beer. We’re from New York, and we love New York, but let’s face it, New York has some baggage. There’s the frenzy. There’s the fury. There’s the ultra-fashion. There’s the madras shorts with plastic smiles. Sometimes, sad to say, there’s a feeling of fakeness and unwelcoming. But we know a place where this doesn’t apply. A place called Fire Island…or as we like to call it, The Other New York. Why The Other New York? Because it’s welcoming, it’s laid back, it’s casual. It’s an island off an island off yet another island and things are just plain different here. People say what they mean, without the filter here. They talk to each other in person and leave the blackberries on the bushes for the deer. You’re welcome in their backyards anytime, so long as you don’t act like an A-hole. See what we mean?

We like to say they’re easy going but have real substance…they’re people you want to have a beer with.

And that’s where we started when we decided to brew our own beer. We wanted to make a delicious drinkable beer with the great substance of an American Ale and give it a personality full of stories, laughs and an entertaining point of view…just like Fire Island itself. So say hello to Fire Island Lighthouse Ale our first product launching May 2009.
