Left-handed, dyslexic, science-geek. Obsessive and professional fact-checker.
Maths grad - then Computer Scientist, then Monetary Economist.
Retired, just as soon as the euro notes and coins were in circulation across Europe; having spent 10 years working toward that event. Working on anything afterwards would have been an utter and total anti-climax, so I packed it in.
"Consultant to International and Central Banks" is how I used to title myself - fairly accurately.
Lived lots of places, at home anywhere (except maybe Sweden).
An old mate of mine, a very senior Ethiopian lawyer once told me he had finally visited one place on earth worse than Ethiopia - it being North Korea - but no other Ethiopian could believe that there could be anywhere worse than Ethiopia.
Neither he nor they had visited Sweden.

Be aware: This is a god-free zone.

I block everyone who uses comments on my photostream to pimp their own photographs.

Judith*Green says:
"I expect most people feel like this: there are one or two of your contacts whose photos you specially look forward to, or whose photostream you home in on if you only have limited time. Ray is like that for me.
His photos have all kinds of qualities: respect and affection for, and knowledge of, his subjects, often humour too; the technical expertise to make his photos always of the highest quality; and best of all, for me, they're just such a joy to look at - wonderful colours, beautiful focus, light and viewpoint, cropped just right and not too close It's as if he planted his garden and the pig field to become the ideal background for his little creatures.
Keep them coming, Ray, they give such pleasure"5th September, 2009
