Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can. — Danny Kaye

Recently transplanted to Indiana after living the last two+ decades in North Carolina (eastern part) (I'm a native Tar Heel), Texas (DFW and the north central bit), California (Mojave high desert) , and Britain (the Cotswolds).

For two years now, my life has turned upside down and seems scripted as if it were a bad South American soap opera. I've experienced everything from:

unexpectedly retiring early.

finding myself unwillingly single when the love of my life (he was 12 years younger) left me after 17 years together for a new young trophy wife.

two NDEs after being bitten by brown recluse spiders.

spending months in the hospital afterwards due to the bites and complications.

having to let my beloved critters live with their critter dad (2 horses, 2 dogs, 7 cats, and various guineas).

moving from 18 acres in the country in wide-open rolling prairie north central Texas to a tiny efficiency type place in Plano to a lovely small town in eastern North Carolina and now to Cicero, Indiana. after a respite in Carmel, Indiana.

having the things in my life stripped away to the barest elements and discovering I can find joy without the 'stuff'.

I am starting over ... again. And I now live life to the fullest. My attitude now? "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." ~ Dr. Seuss

I now choose to cherish EVERY moment. I began this new chapter of my life with the intent of finding someone with whom to share the days left. The power of intent seems to be working as I've met someone here in Indiana. Is he the new love of my life? Who knows ... only time will tell. Until then, I'm savoring every moment.

I'm discovering digital photography to help me focus. I'm approaching photography and the rest of my life with a beginner's mind drawing upon my Buddhist stint in my twenties.

A camera is with me now so much of the time as I'm loving taking baby steps with digital photography and graphics programs and filters and whatever I can absorb. I appreciate the comments / advice/ constructive 'criticism' here ... provided it comes from the spirit of kindness (it took decades for me to learn to choose kindness over being right). Most of my photos do not hit the mark. Occasionally I get lucky. My aim is to improve and to chart my progress on these pages. I delight in serendipitously finding wonderful photographs and their photographers here. Ain't synchronicity grand? :-)

Sending positive energy ...
