Land of the setting sun

Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Si and I'll be your host. Wipe your feet at the door or kindly remove your shoes.

Photography eh! I think you all know what I mean. I've had an interest in photography for as long as I can remember.

My interest never really developed though and I continually switched from point and shoot to point and shoot as each one slowly died. I always knew that I had an appreciation of beauty and a love of the outdoors but my photo's were still snapshots. I didn't know any better though.

I had been looking at pursuing another interest for a while after I gave up my Manchester United season ticket (there's no need to stop reading there btw.)

A friend at work mentioned he was selling his Canon 400d as he had moved onto bigger and better. He jibbered on about aperture and F stops and low light and shutter speed. I was interested but very confused at the same time (we've all been there)

I finally took delivery of my new toy. My friend chucked in a few extras and I was off and away. I manically bought books and magazines, determined to learn just what the hell i'd split with £250 for and make sense of those words he was jibbering on about.

I was hooked. Consumed.

Several accesories and lenses later, not to mention £100's of pounds lighter here we are.

I quickly discovered that my real passion is landscape and seascape photography. But as I am still learning I try and lend my hand to each and every genre there is. I've even been to pound stretcher and purchased a few led lights and glow sticks to see if I can't make myself some orbs. Hows about that then!?

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my story and hopefully look and comment on my photo's. I hope you like what you see. Please feel free to leave constructive comments or just if you want to say hi. One day I plan to make a career out of this so I can do with all the help I need. I promise I won't forget you when I'm a millionaire!

If you do like any of my photos and wish to purchase or use any of them, please do email me or leave a PM and we can work something out I'm sure. Alternatively take a look at my website and contact me through there.

Si.
