Farmhouse Greetings' photostream  

I'm an illustrator. I prefer drawing with pen-and-ink or pencil. I've been creating my own calendars under the name Farmhouse Greetings for 20 years primarily for family and friends. I thoroughly enjoy illustrating for the quarterly gardening magazine, GreenPrints. 2008 marks the fifth year I've illustrated for GP. I've also illustrated a couple of textbooks and I do private commissions.

Currently I'm working on creating a series of 20 wall quilts- each quilt contains 12 illustrated panels from each of my annual Farmhouse greetings' calendars. I transfer the original drawings onto muslin blocks measuring 9" x 12" using heat transfer paper, a copier (I reverse the original image) and a source of heat. I started out using a hand iron, but have since purchased a small heat press. I will eventually have a show in a nearby library or art gallery- I'm motivated by the desire to see all my calendar illustrations on the walls at one time in one place!
