I have lived in Edmonton for over twenty years. I love taking pictures and obviously my favorite subjects are animals. I have two dogs and two cats and they do take up a lot of my phototstream :)

#1 Farful... She came first (she is nine now.... her 10th "Gotcha Day" is April 20, 2011)... My husband rescued her from someone who had her chained up on a first story balcony when she was a puppy... she never had any shelter in the rain or heat and was never properly fed or watered... he eventually convinced the people to give her to him and she has been ours ever since. When we first got her you couldn't even look at her and she would cower and go to the washroom on the floor... she is still scared of laundry baskets and people wearing sunglasses but otherwise she is a perfectly happy healthy dog :)

#2 Fernie... she is about five years old now (her third "Gotcha Day" is March 28, 2011)... when we got her she was so malnutritioned and small that the shelter thought she was about a year old but our vet told us she was actually closer to two. We went to the shelter and all the other cats were right up at the front of their cages meowing for attention but Fernie was this little scraggly, knotted, dirty ball in the back corner of her cage. We asked to see her and she hid under the mop bucket for five minutes until we could coax her out with some treats... she started rubbing and rolling and purring and we knew she was ours :) She is honestly the best cat ever... she loves all dogs and even comes camping with us...

#3 Momo... she is now nineteen months (Her second "Gotcha Day" is October 29, 2011)... she was kind of a fluke... we had gone to the shelter to look for a puppy that day and here was the tiniest little kitten ever.... her mom was killed when she was only three weeks old... the shelter nursed her until she was ready to go... she was only one pound when we got her and all long legs and big wide eyes :) But oh so feisty... all the other kitties were sleeping and she was swatting at people as they walked by... even when we took her home she popped out of the box and looked at Farful and was like "Oh a big giant dog... purrrrrrr" She has no fear and is a constant amusement :)

#4 And last but not least my Ozzy boy :) He is my special little guy just because he seems to have the most problems... we got him two days after we got Momo and they are the same age (His second "Gotcha Day" is October 31, 2011)... The shelter told us that he was found in a gym bag with his brother left on the side of the highway to die... needless to say he is very fearful of vehicles and traffic, loud noises, thunder, strangers... and the list goes on. He is kind of socially odd (he gets along with Farful, Fernie and Momo but has issues meeting any new animals)... he is very demanding but I look at it like he is here to teach me how to be a better person... I definitely have way more patience and understanding now :)

I am new to flickr this year (Jan 28, 2010) and am already so addicted!!! I am just an amateur and I don't have the best camera (point and shoot) but I do get the odd "money shot" here and there.

I wish I had of known about flickr years ago since I have so many old pictures I would have loved to have posted. I love getting comments and will always comment back on anyone who leaves me a comment.

I am a very diligent contact and will always make time to comment on any new postings. On that note please don't feel offended if I don't add you back as a contact (I try to keep them minimal as it is too hard to keep up between contacts and groups) but if you comment on my pics I will always make time to visit your stream and comment as well. I am also really stingy with my favorites so if I do add one of your photos as my favorite that is honestly the highest compliment I can give you!!!

THE CANCER WOMAN (the crab)
She may appear like the photograph of that dream girl most men carry in a hidden locket of their minds. But lurking just below the surface of that shy, sweet image is a superbly sensual woman.
The two things she needs more than anything else are love and security, and she offers undying loyalty to a man who makes her feel secure. A betrayal in love is devastating, and takes a long, long time for her to forgive. In truth she never forgives - rationally yes, perhaps, but emotionally, never.
Hers is not a flamboyant personality, but rather one of gentleness, depth, and richness. She is not only romantic, she's convinced that love, love, love is the secret of life. This sounds old-fashioned but that's part of her charm: she is old-fashioned. It's a special quailty that makes men feel protective towards her.

Friends Without Faces

We sit and we type and we stare at our screens,
We can't help but wonder what all of this means.
With mouse in hand ...we roam through this maze,
On an infinite search...lost in a daze.

We chat with each other, we type all our woes
At times we'll band together to gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.

Soon friendships are formed - but - why we don't know,
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.
We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes we'll flirt,
In IMs we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.

Why is it on screen, we are so easily bold,
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.

We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to our 'puters ...and to those we can trust.
Even though it sounds crazy...the truth still remains,
Most of my "friends" have no faces...and odd little names.
