Amateur photographer since always. Lost interest for quite a number of years but then along came a digital camera in my possesion mid 2005.

So: fun started again. I'm now regaining the interest - since 2007 with a a lot of inspiration from the Great community at Flickr.

I'm trying to navigate in my own track but - by watching other photographers pictures and becoming influenced by them - the track is at the moment a bit wobbly. But it's fun.

After some thinking I decided finally to have my photos copyrighted. Kinda against my principles but in a way its the only straightforward thing to do I guess. Anyone can still use them for whatever uncommercial purpose - as long a s you, please, ask first. OK? I don't upload anything bigger than 1280 px - so if there is someone that urgently need one in better resolution - let me know.

Until the 1st Q of 2008 I used a KonicaMinolta Dimage Z6, since then a Canon G9. From Jan 2010 I more or less only use a Canon EOS 7D equipped with either a Canon EF-S 15-85 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM or a Canon EF 35 mm/f2.0.

Editing: Until 2009 GIMP, from 2010 Adobe Lightroom.
Whenever possible I shoot in camera raw format.

age: much more than 18

"according to wikipedia, piblokto means arctic hysteria.
there is nothing cold in piblokto's pictures, but he definitely spreads photo hysteria among his army of fans. i'm glad to be one of those. and his friend. :)"

"as the greenmonster said, he spreads light everywhere he is, and the light was the first thing i noticed in piblokto's photography, the light, it's pure, and there is warmth and clarity - whereas it is clear it is not intrusive or blinding. it is not hiding either. it is just light. only shown what is already there, nothing superfluous added. light, seen, photographed and thus captured, but not imprisoned. Preserved, but not killed. a sort of light whose delicacy is embedded in a persistent presence in a very - sort of understating sense which is maybe why piblokto's photography is so unobviously strong."

    Greenmonster says:

"I am happy to have written the first testimonial for piblokto, but I hope more will follow.

Piblokto is a photographer with his own style. Trying to understand his photo world, I see I have changed my view on photography in many ways. I don't like only very contrasted, saturated or dark photos anymore. I can see that a pale desaturated photo could be great too. Thinking about the right word to describe his photography, it is "delicate". Delicate shadows, delicate colors, delicate forms, delicate elegance, delicate humor. The other word is "light". Piblokto is virtuous in catching light (maybe because he's a Scandinavian?).

I would describe with the same words - "delicate" and "light" - piblokto as a person. His Flickr friends are lucky to have him as a friend. He always gives elegant feedback, leaving delicate and often humorous (without irony or sarcasm) comments. He spreads light anywhere he is. But he is also confident and he can be trusted. I know I can rely on piblokto. He is a great friend.

To make the long story short - meeting piblokto and his photography makes you happy."
