I am an artist - first and foremost.

In all the ups and downs of my life, that has been the one grounding universal *truth* of my life, of my being, of my soul.

I dabble in just about any medium I can get my hands on, lol.

I'm also a wanna-be geek. In that I work in the tech support dept as well as the multimedia dept (yes, I do actually straddle the art and techie depts) for a dot com company for the past 9 years (going on 10), I host other people's websites professionally on my servers (nothing to do with my real job), I taught myself how to code and am teaching myself php and SQL along with a smattering of Linux as needed.

Want to really hurt your brain? Try learning Linux in two days. I did learn enough to do what I had to do on my own - but it was extremely painful. Luckily I just keep building onto that foundation but it was a tough two days! *chortle*

I also have the knack for fixing things. I can fix all sorts of equipment and engines and machinery - without really knowing what I am doing ... and yet, I have amazed my family and friends for years by making machines and appliances (and yes even cars) work after they have broke - making them last sometimes even years past when they were doomed to the dump. lol. I guess I have a certain mojo! lol.

I have a wacky bizarre sense of humor. I love to laugh, and live to laugh. lol. See? LOL. There, I did it again! hee! I adore puns and all sorts of literary sort of games - I am the literal loophole QUEEN - if there is a different spin you can take on something and be a smartie butt - well that's where you will likely find me.

I have a green thumb like no one's business. And I am something of a animal "whisperer" I guess is what they call it these days. I literally have called wildlife to me out in the wild in my heyday as a wild child - maybe that is why? Wild speaks to wild? Untamed resonates to untamed? Probably. lol. In any case, probably wasn't the smartest thing for me to do ... but it was a magical and amazing experience every time it happened.

I have a SERIOUS penchant for trees. BIG time. I long earned the nickname druid and druidess - because of my eternal and strong fascination and connection to trees. As a child, I used to hear them sing, and yes, trees do sing. For reals. I used to prefer sleeping in trees as a kid, and believed that they cradled me and held me and would protect me, and in many ways - I think they did. Trees are one of my totems. So yeah trees are a big deal to me.

I also have a BIG thing for frogs. Oh yeah. HUGE thing for frogs. Used to breed them - about 60 different species. And no, I wasn't like the "frog lady" that ate flies on Everyone Loves Raymond, LOL! But I have an abiding love for frogs and toads and, well ... ANY amphibian really - but frogs and toads are right there. They are also one of my totems, but closer to the ground - which well, makes sense.

I have a huge thing for wolves and coyotes too. I was accepted by a small pack of wild coyotes as a teenager when I was in my deepest wild child phase, down near the southern mountain ranges near Riverside, CA. I once had the amazing chance (that I eagerly took) to play with a full blooded Timber Wolf that was being kept as a pet when I was 16. Which was probably stupid, looking back. lol. They are HUGEEEEE. And back then, I was litttttttttttle. But yeah wolves are a major totem for me.

But really I have a strong connection for most of big predators. Birds of prey are another biggie for me.

And so are fish as well as pretty much all marine life. LOL. Hey I'm a Pisces, so that is just a given. ROFL.

Anyway - I'm doing ACEOs and ATCs and having a real blast with them! I'm coming back to my 2d art and just LOVING it! And even painting and drawing - and get this - CG stuff too! Yay!

I'm enjoying networking and meeting new folks that also create ACEOs and ATCs.

I started a few things revolving around that too:

YoloATC - this is a group for anyone that lives in Yolo County in Northern Calif. I didn't see any group for that area, so I decided to start one and see what happened. lol

Collectible ACEOs & ATCs - a Ning network with blogs and gallery and forums for ACEO and ATC artists. There is a group here on Flickr for it as well!

ACEO & ATC Plugboard - a FREE plugboard for ACEO and ATC artists to promote their sites and blogs!

Top 100 ACEO & ATC Artists Sites - a toplist for all ACEO& ATC artists to promote their sites or blogs.

And I love sculpting too! I am NOTORIOUSLY slow at sculpting. LOL. The first 15 months, I had completed only ONE piece. lol. I squished hundreds of head though, lol.

I am one of the founders of the OOAKguild, which is a resource and community site for sculptors, collectors, and vendors. That does take up some of my time, but it's a blast!

And I also run FeyRealm - a fairy/fantasy resource and community site. But I have been seriously lagging on maintaining it over the past years. I know! I so need to change that!

I also launched a another site as well called MermaidArtists.com - a site for finding unique and original mermaid art by amazing mermaid artists! And of course mermaid collectors and artists are ALL welcome!!

And if you like my artwork, then you might just LOVE my merchandise at Zazzle! http://zazzle.com/Elfwitch*

I appreciate everyone that shows me support by purchasing my art because, well, it's how I buy MORE art supplies to create more art! In fact, pretty much the only reason I even *can* buy art supplies in this nasty economy is because of those wonderful supportive and sweet people that buy my art! Bless their hearts!

Anyway Flickr has been interesting and fun and I love being a member! :)
