The Eyeopener has been providing Ryerson students with award-winning, thought-provoking journalism since September 26, 1967. An independent voice on campus, The Eyeopener covers news, sports, arts, culture and business for the Ryerson community.
The Eyeopener's awards include the 1999 Canadian Association of Journalists award in the small newspaper category (circulation under 25,000) for its investigative series on the Yonge-Dundas redevelopment.
Eyeopener alumni include Mark Bonokoski, Christie Blatchford, Kirk Lapointe, Kirk Makin, Dianne Buckner, Wendy Mesley, Bob McKenzie, Rob Granatstein and Graeme Smith.
The Eyeopener is owned and operated by Rye Eye Publishing Inc., owned by the students of Ryerson. The Eyeopener is published every Wednesday.
