*** If I don't have you listed as a "friend" on flickr, you're missing the good stuff!! Add me and I'll most likely add you back!! ***

(I am currently going through a "housekeeping" phase here on flickr. Sets and photos may be moved, rearranged, or disappear altogether. I am not actually deleting any photos, though, merely changing permissions. If there is one you wish to see again that I have obscured during this process, please let me know and I will see that it meets your eyes yet again.)

I am a moderator for "10 Million Photos." Of this I am exceedingly proud. That group is my flickr family. :)

I am the creator of "PIRANHAS!!!" and "Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S650 users!"

And I am an administrator for a few other groups whose members have deemed me worthy of such an esteem (it's not as hard as you think).

about me:

I take a couple photos sometimes, if you haven't noticed. ;)

Photographs are primarily a form of communication for me, I suppose. I tell people about myself, my life, my friends, and my adventures, largely through the use of various captured images.

As far as "artistic" photography is concerned, in addition to the obvious scenic/nature/whatever photos most people like to take, I especially like to notice things that others might miss. To call attention to the seams, the little things that hold together the world. Gutters and mortar and seedlings. A secret smile. The peripheral and the essential. Offstage, backstage, back in the alleyway, behind closed doors. But not necessarily "dark secrets," just the normally unseen.

I've noticed that my photographic life, as with "real life", moves in cycles, in seasons, in phases, in colors, in shapes. Never exactly the same, but always recurring in some form or other, year after year. Concentric, but ever-spiraling outward from within. And the color and texture of my thoughts inevitably bleeds into my photos.

As time goes on, the texture, the color emerges and recedes. An identity slowly forms and builds. The identity of my art, and of myself. As I build this collection from the inside out and add more images, both old and new, you might begin to see what I mean. At least, I hope the photos will tell you what I mean.

Basically my philosophy is this: People and objects have stories to tell. The sky is a canvas. The human face is the string on a guitar, the cymbal not yet struck. Infinite potential rests in everything, in every atom. I seek to find it, to nudge it, to bring it shyly out into the bright morning sun, to give it a place of its own to sit and sparkle and dry its newborn wings in the light. And to show it to you. To remind you of the forgotten, the not yet discovered. To remind you of the infinite potential in all things, and in yourself.

And if it makes you smile or laugh or weep, or think a new thought, or look at something differently than before, then I have done my job. :)

(Also: if you're only seeing a few thousand photos in here, you're missing the "good stuff." Add me as a friend and my photographic world will really open up for you.)

say cheese!!

"Of all the people I have met on flickr, eustacia is definitely one of them.
She also seems to own a camera, which is important to be active here.

Seriously, she is witty and intelligent and I look forward to her pictures and her posts. I am proud to have her as one of my flickr friends. Eustacia. Keep up the good work!

I googled the name Eustacia to find its meaning. Eustacia has a Latin origin, meaning Fruitful and tranquil. Looking at her photos and chatting with her briefly I think it is an appropriate name for her."

"For an Okie, she is pretty cool.

I'm also drawn to the underside of the chair, the side street, the things nobody else notices. That may explain why I chose to be a part of the plumbing myself. If you take enough photos of everything you see, some of them have to turn out good, and a few will turn out great. But all of them will be interesting to someone somehow.

Keep shooting. Keep showing us your view of the world."
