The photos on these FLICKR pages are about my travels in Europe in 1971.

I left Canada on September 20, 1971 and returned home for a visit in August 1973 and then I was off again. My original travels in 1971 took me from Amsterdam to Koln then along and up the Rhine with a stop in Heidelburg. Then on to Zurich. From there, I went to Interlaken, Grinelwald and Gimmelwald and Murren. After that, I hitch hiked to Lasanne and Genf and then south through France to Grenoble and Avignon. After leaving Avignon, I travelled by train to Barcelona. I hitch hiked from Barcelona to Madrid to meet up with friends then drove back to Barcelona with them in their VW van.

I ended up in Giessen, W Germany in February 1972 where I worked for 18 months.

In the summer of 1972, I hitch hiked north to Inari, SF and then to Hammerfest, Norway. This was my first adventure in the Arctic and the beginning of many adventures in the north.
