Eugenio Squarcia - aka Esma - born in 1984. Writer, illustrator and versatile artist, graduated in architecture and interior design at the 'Dosso Dossi' Art Institute of Ferrara. He works as a graphic designer for books and cultural projects, realizing the concept of some important events in Montreal, Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Bangkok. In the world of cinema and videoart makes the short film 00156 (Bronze Medal at the 67th edition of the UNICA international competition - 2005, Blankenberge; Special Jury Prize at the Third Edition of the International Competition of Non Professional Cinema of Tallinn), masterfully played by Silvia Pasello. Later, he develops two new productions: Amygdala and Totentanz, the first two chapters of a project that, for the first time, aims to fully translate the opera 'Le città invisibili' by Italo Calvino in a series of films. In the field of experimental music, he start very young to play the piano and to compose soundtracks for his own videoartistic works. He is fond of authors such as Steve Reich, Johann Johannsson, Max Richter, Giovanni Sollima, Philip Glass, Edward Artemiev, Stars of the Lid, Loscil, Vangelis, Free Association, Keiichi Suzuki and Brian Eno. He also plays the cello and works with electronic music. Recently collaborates in the international project LDWR (Long Division With Remainders) for which composes an EP. The knowledge gained in depth studies and researches on the Philosophy and Science of Metaphysics in the perspective of new Connectivism, lead him to conceive the workshop of "Theory and Practice of Creative Thinking", active since 2009.
