I'm an amateur photographer living in Washington, DC. Like many shutterbugs, I started getting into photography in a more serious way when my first child was born. I still take lots of pictures of my family, but I enjoy photographing other subjects too. For the past year or so I've been trying to learn more about lighting, and I've just started to dabble in macro photography. Part of what I like about photography is that it allows me to apply my interest in science and technology toward creative ends. I get to be the geek that I truly am while producing images that my less geeky friends and family can enjoy!
